The redevelopment of the The Kensington Colleges site is now underway with the handover of the site to Richard Crookes Constructions on Monday, 12th December, 2011. The period of construction is two years with an anticipated opening date of January 2014. Basser, Philip Baxter and Goldstein College will be rebuilt and re-opened along with two new residential facilities of 232 and 160 beds respectively. The goal of this project is to give more UNSW students the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of living in a supportive environment at college, introducing the modern conveniences of the 21st century while maintaining the history and traditions of Basser, Philip Baxter and Goldstein.
Below are some architectural images of the new scheme.
This project, in conjunction with the Gate 2 development of nearly 400 new self-catered beds on campus, will have a projected cost of $110m and have many opportunities for naming rights, small and large-scale donations. Please contact Chris Lewis at email@example.com for information on opportunities to support this project.
