May 07: The Goldstein Ball

Goldstein's night at the Oscars!

This year's Goldstein Ball was held at L'Aqua in Cockle Bay Wharf.  The theme for this year's ball was "A Night at the Oscars" and every one the girls in their enchanting dresses and the boys in their dashing suits did justice to the them everyone looked like a star that night.  There was also the presentation of a number of 'Oscars', courtesy of our amazing Social Directors.

As the night progressed the stars of Goldstein College partied hard and truly made it an evening to remember.

Amrita Islam
Ball Director

May 07: Session 1 Jam Night

A celebration of Goldstein's musical talents!

Session 1 Jam night was an intimate and stellar evening.  Of the large group of Goldsteinians who came along to watch and support, I don't think one of them left without feeling totally envious of the often hidden musical talent of the people who performed.

Session 1 Jam Night was a great sample of what is to come in session 2 when Goldstein will be staging its first 'all round' talent evening, an event that will also be open to alumni.

Mar 07: Our 2006 University Medallists - Lauren Kark

Congratulations to Lauren Kark on graduating First Class Honours and the University Medal in Mechanical Engineering.

Lauren is our second Goldstein resident (she is currently a tutor in the college) to be awarded the University Medal this year, following Kearyn Ferguson's graduation.  This is an outstanding achievement for Lauren and demonstrates the strength of academic achievement at Goldstein.

Not satisfied with her current achievements, Lauren is undertaking further studies, commencing a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, specialising in lower limb prosthetics.

Congratulations once again, Lauren!

Mar 07: Our 2006 University Medallists - Kearyn Ferguson

Congratulations to Kearyn Ferguson on graduating with First Class Honours and the University Medal in Chemical Engineering.

The award of the University Medal indicates outstanding academic performance, in the case of an honours degree significantly above the minimum requirements for Honours Class 1.

Only around 40 medals were awarded amongst the thousands of students that completed their studies in 2006.  As such, this represents a special achievement for Kearyn, a resident at Goldstein from 2003 - 2006.

Congratulations, once again, Kearyn!
