O'Week & O'Weekend

Getting to know you... and us...

Regardless of why you have chosen or are contemplating choosing Goldstein as your home away from home, after experiencing the vibrancy and excitement of O-Week you will know you have made the right decision.  O-Week provides the opportunity for new residents (collectively known as 'freshers'!) to get to know the college, the university and most importantly each other.  It is a jam packed week of social events and other activities that will not only prepare you for the year to come but are also designed to ease any of your pre-college/ university nerves.

Following a welcome lunch with your parents, you will be introduced to your O-Week leaders who have been selectively chosen to make your transition into Goldstein College the best it can be.   Your O-Week leaders are senior residents of the college who epitomise the Goldstein spirit and aim to make your week as interesting and memorable as possible.

2007's O-Week saw the arrival of 36 new residents from all over the world to study in variety of degrees.  The week included a university tour, city scavenger hunt, harbour cruise and much more.  The University of New South Wales also runs its university orientation week during this time and college residents are encouraged to take advantages of these university events as well.  (You can always pick the Goldstein residents because they are wearing their Goldstein ties!)

Freshers also have the opportunity to meet residents from the other two Kensington College's at the O-Week bush dance and harbour cruise, which are wonderful opportunities to have a get dressed up and have a great time.

A smaller scale version of O-Week, Orientation Weekend, is held at the beginning of Session 2 for our smaller influx of new residents.  An equally fun time, O-Weekend gives the brand new students a taste of O-Week on a slightly lesser scale.
