About TKC

Welcome to the website of The Kensington Colleges (TKC), the first residential Colleges established at UNSW, and the only Colleges owned and managed by the University. We comprise Basser College, opened in 1959; Goldstein College, opened in 1964; and Philip Baxter College, opened in 1966. Each College accommodates both men and women, with all meals provided in the Colleges Dining Hall throughout the academic year. Particular catering arrangements are made during vacation periods.

The Kensington Colleges are proud of their diverse mix of residents from all over Australia and from overseas, and welcome students from rural remote areas, from various academic and special entry scholarship programs, and from Study Abroad and other international exchange schemes. As the University's own Colleges, we are not linked with any particular religion or religious organisation.
Our resident academic staff (tutors), who provide both academic and personal support and care, are mainly postgraduate students and/or staff of the University and cover a broad range of academic disciplines. Our staff and resident students form a special community of social, sporting, cultural and intellectual engagement that adds significant value to your University experience, and provides every support for your adjustment to life at UNSW. It is a community where you will make life-long friends.

Hopefully you find this website helpful as you consider where your home away from home will be while studying at UNSW. The links under 'Our Colleges' will allow you to find out more about College life and about some of the distinct characteristics and traditions of each College.
