How to Apply An application processing fee of $AUD25 (non refundable) and 2 passport size photos must accompany your application. Please contact us if you need to have the Application for Residence mailed out. Faxed applications will not be accepted. Return your completed application to the following address: Application for Residence The Kensington Colleges University of New South Wales Sydney NSW, 2052 Australia Selection Criteria Offers for residency are based on information obtained from the application form, and entry to UNSW. Personal interviews are required where possible for Philip Baxter and Basser. Early applications are encouraged, even before your high school or university results are finalised. The Colleges seek to replicate the considerable diversity of the student population of UNSW, with residents from a range of courses and programs and a variety of social and cultural backgrounds. In addition, particular need for on-campus accommodation, such as difficulty or distance of travel from the students home to the University, are important considerations when offering places. For this reason, priority is normally given to international, interstate and country students before local metropolitan students. As The Kensington Colleges cannot accommodate all applicants you need to consider all available accommodation options. Closing Date for Applications There is no closing date. Applications are considered until the Colleges are full. The Colleges do not advise applicants of the status of their application until we are in a position to make an offer. Applicants should maintain contact with our office to determine the likelihood of being made an offer. Residency Offer Procedure The residency offer documentation is emailed out where possible so applicants are advised to check their emails on a regular basis. If no email addess is available the offer documentation is mailed out by express post. Successful applicants receive a letter of offer with a New Resident Acceptance Form and Payment Form for an advance payment which should be returned to the office by the stated time. Session 1 Applicants: Early offers are sent out in November and are conditional upon entry to UNSW. A large number of offers are made towards the end of January following the release of UNSW offers through UAC. Session 2 Applicants: Residency offers are made from June/early July. |
