The Kensington Colleges were delighted to host the first luncheon gathering of the Alumni Pioneers Group for the year in the Bromham Room on 4th March, 2008. The group is made up of graduates of thirty years standing or more who take pleasure in meeting regularly to catch up and to discuss current issues affecting UNSW.

The event was well attended as always, with organisers and guests enjoying a thought provoking presentation from Vice-Chancellor Professor Fred Hilmer on UNSW directions. The convenor of the group, Dr Keith Bowling, also welcomed to the gathering Timothy Rownes, a current resident of Basser College and Mechanical Engineering student. Timothy is the recipient of the first annual Alumni Pioneers Bursary.

Also in attendance were Emeritus Professor Al Willis, former Dean of Engineering and Pro-Vice-Chancellor; John Hume, Manager of Alumni Relations and Jennifer Bott, Chief Executive of the UNSW Foundation.
